Burned house - first floor

Post by Ganzje » Thu Jan 02, 2014 10:55 am

The weight limit is a bit annoying, but what's troubling me is that you can find items like an oven there, which are impossible to move since their weight (70) is already bigger than the limit (60).
This makes no sense to me.

So maybe you could change the weightlimit or remove the oven from items you can find there?

This is intentional. It's kind of a mixture between me being a jerk (giving you items you can't take with you) and the fact if you were to scavenge a real burned house, you'd find it difficult to move heavy stuff around without the house collapsing around you.

So we can have 4 people standing on the first floor, having several tables and mattresses and what not around, but we can't take a single oven down the stairs? ;)

Also does an oven really weigh more than a table/mattress?

my microwave oven is pretty heavy.... mattresses - maybe not the same weight(?) but harder to carry around, especially kingsize/big ones...
Note to self, hardcore - orange pill is good.

Perhaps if you have 2 people you can help each other carry something heavier than 60?

I have a little convection oven that looks pretty similar to the one in-game.I can pick it up with no problem, where as picking up and moving a table or mattress is pretty difficult when your alone.I could only imagine how much more difficult it would be to move them with the floor crumbling underneath you...

:!: What if you had a choice to risk getting said heavy object like say the oven, table,or mattress instead of just having the weight limit?

:!: Instead, maybe you could risk getting the heavy object, but have a chance of falling through the floor if you exceed the weight limit. The risk would be if you fall through you would land on the Ground floor, thus taking a high yet random amount of health,and/or making you lose some energy, and fatigue as well.Like say 75%-100% of Health, and 25%-50% Energy, and fatigue loss?

You would still get the item if you fell, but the fall could kill you...

there is a difference between mass and mass/m² :)

and ask me, as woman r. activist..i can only carry 58, thats even more fun^^

yeah...just dump that damn oven out of the window. cracks open, 1 scrap generated, done. that would balance it too.
