I read the wiki and faq. I realized that each scavenges will decreases the chance of finding another item so I suggest this.
what if instead of decreasing the search chance till you practically cant find anything at all, you increase the no. of zombies that attacks you and\or the no. of zombies that blocks you? it would definitely make it more fun and hard right?
note: this is just a suggestion as the forum says so don't be quick to judge me, also hi im new

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that already kind of happens - only on a global scale. The longer you play, the more zombies attack and block you. In addition, the chance of spawning stronger zombies also increases with time.

umm perhaps you can build a watch tower to "un-deplete" certain areas? like how in die2nite some areas may un-deplete because of the construction of the watch tower. or even show a bar that shows chances of finding something like a full bar for defenitly finding something to a practilly empty bar that means good luck finding something.

The survivalist has an heroic action that can (partially) un-deplete a region. Other than that, the next season will bring many additional hideout upgrades that may or may not help with this
